Bio-LNG from Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) 

Bio-Liquefied Natural Gas (Bio-LNG) is an advanced renewable fuel derived from the BioGAS produced by anaerobic digestion of Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME). POME, a high-organic content wastewater from palm oil mills, undergoes treatment in biogas digesters, where  methane-rich biogas is captured and purified. The purified biomethane is then cooled to  cryogenic temperatures (-160°C) to convert it into Bio-LNG.

Bio-LNG is a cleaner alternative to conventional LNG, offering significant reductions in  greenhouse gas emissions. It can be used as a sustainable fuel for heavy transport, power  generation, and industrial applications. By converting POME into Bio-LNG, palm oil mills can  enhance sustainability, reduce methane emissions, and create additional revenue streams  while supporting the circular economy in the palm oil industry.
